Enjoy National Peach Month In The Triangle
Through the entire month of August across the Triangle we are celebrating National Peach Month!
There are so many delicious recipes you can make with peaches – you can eat them right off the tree, sliced over cream, make peach cobbler or you even blend them in delicious cocktails!
In honor of National Peach Month, here is a delicious after dinner treat for the perfect North Carolina evening.
A Delicious Peach Cobbler Recipe
4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
½ cup butter
1 1/2 cups flour
Ground cinnamon, optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the peaches, ¾ cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt. Mix remaining ¾ cup sugar, flour and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir.
Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter
will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired. Best served warm.
