A Look Back At Triangle Development From Above

I'll fess up, I'm a map geek, and a history nerd. Luckily a new tool from Google combines the two and lets you watch a time lapse of historical satellite imagery.

Below is North Chatham County starting in 1984 through this year. At first, not much is going on, then in 1988 you see Governors Club get laid out. A little over a decade later and 15-501 get widened. Finally, starting in 2006 and 2007, Briar Chapel gets off the ground and then explodes (in a good way) over the past couple of years:
